The OTC Foundation Biomechanical Research Program is geared towards the improvement of fracture fixation.

The OTC Foundation accomplishes this through:

  • ♦ Encouragement and support of biomechanical studies for the improvement of fracture fixation
  • ♦ Coordination of biomechanical activities in trauma research
  • ♦ Creation of a trauma related biomechanical network
  • ♦ Organization of expert workshops on “hot topics”
  • ♦ Provision of Fellowships in the biomechanical area

Prof. Peter Augat, Germany (Chair) and Dr. M. Bottlang, USA (Co-chair) direct the OTC Foundation Biomechanical Research program. Like the OTC Basic Research Program, the OTC Research Committee also directs the evaluation and selection processes for Biomechanical Research Proposals as well.
