Biomechanical Research Program
The OTCF Biomechanical Research Program is geared towards the improvement of fracture fixation. This program is focusing on:
-
• Encouragement and support of biomechanical studies for the improvement of fracture fixation, see Research Grants
-
• Coordination of biomechanical activities in trauma research
-
• Creation of a trauma related biomechanical network
-
• Organization of expert workshops on “hot topics”, see News, Events and Courses
-
• Provision of fellowships in the biomechanical area, see Research Fellowships
Peter Augat, Murnau, Germany (Chair) and Michael Bottlang, Portland, USA (Co-chair) direct the OTCF Biomechanical Research Program. The OTC Research Committee (RECO) directs the evaluation and selection process for biomechanical research grant proposals.
The current hot topic in biomechanical research at OTCF is “Assessment of Fracture Repair in Patients”, see Courses & Events.
